Ventoux red: welcome to the domaine's super-tolerant, all singing, all dancing/all-purpose red. Ideal for any meaty meal, it is also happy with a hot curry, pizza or some Provençal vegetable dishes such as ratatouille; or even hard, cows' milk cheeses.

Assemblage

50% Grenache, 50% Syrah.

Vinification

Handpicked in a great year before being crushed and destemmed, the grapes were kept at 24°C to preserve the primary fruit flavours, with pumpovers and maceration conducted to optimise the extraction of elegant, concentrated, plump full tannins. The blend was aged for a further six months before being lightly filtered and bottled.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Deep garnet with purple lights.

Nose:  Expressive nose dominated by spices and jammy red fruits with some hints of graphite (pencil leads).

Palate: Round and full in the mouth with notes of sweet fruits allied to grilled peppers and liquorice. It is dense with silky tannins on the finish. An accessible and pleasant wine redolent of its terroir.

Cellaring: Will grace all meat and cheese dishes. It is drinking well now but will keep for five years.
